The Myriad Pathway is a 2.5 year community-oriented learning journey for teams of ordinary people as they work towards forming new church communities. Designed for people who are starting, or have already started a church, the Myriad Pathway provides the structure and support needed by your team in its formational years.

Designed specifically, but not exclusively, for non-ordained people, the Myriad Pathway is suitable for anyone who can:

  • Articulate something of their call from God to form a new church community;
  • Have the support of their church leader;
  • Commit to the process as part of a team.

Maybe this is you? Why not have a look at our resource "Am I Called?" and then have a conversation with your church leader.

The Myriad Pathway consists of:

  • 5x two-day in person gatherings (one every 6 months, usually Friday evenings and Saturday daytimes);
  • Mentoring for the team leader;
  • Oversight from a current church leader.

“Myriad is a timely and strategic investment into the future of the Church in this country. Our engagement with running a Myriad hub has produced some of the most inspiring stories of church planting initiatives that I have ever known. This has not been based on the headline-grabbing large investments that so often get the attention, but on encouraging, developing, releasing, and supporting the gifts of lay leaders already present in every congregation.”

Paul Harcourt, Vicar All Saints Woodford Wells and former national leader of New Wine

How do I get trained?

The Myriad Pathway is delivered through a local Hub, which is a partnership between the Myriad team and a local church, network or Diocese. In 2025, we have 8 hubs running across England.

We are currently recruiting teams for Hubs starting in Kent (Autumn 2025), Leicester (Autumn 2025), Bradford (Spring 2025) Lincoln (Spring 2025), Portsmouth (Spring 2025) and Oxfordshire (Summer 2025).

Frequently Asked Questions

▶ How do I get trained?

To get onto a Myriad Pathway, you'll need to find a Hub that you can join in with. We have several hubs running and a number more recruiting. Please contact us for the latest whereabouts of current and upcoming hubs.

▶ How long does it take?

The Myriad Pathway lasts 2.5 years, with in-person gatherings every 6 months plus mid-stage meetings inbetween. Although this might seem like a long time, the Myriad Pathway is not a course but a supported journey through the initial formative years of planting a church.

▶ Do I get a qualification?

Completing the pathway doesn’t result in a formal qualification, although some church networks may choose to recognise it as part of Continual Professional Development or as part of a journey towards formal recognition, including ordination.

▶ Can Clergy join too?

Yes. Although the Myriad Pathway was designed for non-ordained people, we have had clergy-led teams enrol as a way of empowering the whole team to lead the new church.

▶ What happens when the pathway has finished?

We hope that the journey leads towards the formation of new church communities. The Myriad team are also working to develop an ongoing support network and resources for those who have completed the pathway.
