The objective of stage two is for teams to start leading as a team: to grasp that starting a new church community requires a different kind of leadership to classic inherited church models. A key feature of this stage is understanding and building that team.
The second key focus of this stage is reflecting on the culture that teams set. We ask teams to identify their shared values and to understand that the culture that defines their new church community must be a discipling culture.
After the Gathering - please post photos of your teams' action plans into the WhatsApp group.
Oversight Ministers - please send them the Stage Handbook to keep them up to date. Do also ensure you strongly encourage each of them to sign up to the next Oversight Pathway. You should also plan to meet each Oversight Minister with their planter before the next gathering to check in on progress, issues, safeguarding and general progression.
Mentors - please send them the stage handbook and induction materials. In this stage they should meet their planters for the second and third times. Dear <NAME>, We've just finished our second Myriad gathering looking at the theme of "Leading as Team", in which the community has asked themselves how they will lead well together, as well as how and who they might ask to join their team. Please read the Stage 2 Handbook for more details on the content they have covered and the outlook for this stage, including your involvement. With thanks for our partnership in the Gospel, <YOUR NAME> |

Plan Mid Stage - Do look at the content on "Flags and Footprints" and choose a relevant Knowledge Nugget to share.
Thrive in Five - please share the relevant Thrive in Five video in your community's WhatsApp group. What conversation does it generate?
WhatsApp - have you got everyone into the group? Where is God at work? Which team/person needs attention? |
G3 Facilitators Briefing - have you got this in your diaries?
Mentors - please circulate the mentor review. It would be ideal to have all responses before your next check in meeting, and then address any issues at G3. Dear <NAME>, As a Myriad Mentor, you should by now have fulfilled or diarised your third meeting with your mentee and we would like to know how things are progressing. Please complete a Mentor Review within the next two weeks. You can access that here and it should take only 5 minutes to complete. With thanks for our partnership in the Gospel, <YOUR NAME>
Oversight Ministers - please arrange to meet with each planter and their oversight minister before G3. This is to check on their team formation and safeguarding. It is important that you are confident that each new church community has an emerging leadership team (so it's not all the responsibility of one person) and that they have addressed safeguarding policies and procedures.

Oversight Ministers - have you met with each planter and their oversight minister yet? What are the key issues? Are sufficient safeguarding procedures, personnel and policies in place?
