Myriad Pathway
Stage 2
Leading As Team
Stage 2 turns attention outward — to the team around the leader, and to the culture that team will need to embody. Leaders explore what it means to form a genuine team, how to develop a discipling culture within it, and the rhythms that will sustain it over time.

Welcome and Worship
Use these slides to introduce the weekend, remind participants about the Building Blocks and set expectations. Plan 20 minutes of worship.
Co-Workers
This devotion is designed to highlight:
- God is a God of relationship
- We are designed to co-work with God and with each other
- Working without God or each other is sinful
- We are given gifts which are to be used together
Where are we up to?
This session allows each team to present the developments in forming their new church community. Teams should refer back to the actions they determined at the previous gathering.
Leading As Team
Leadership of a new church community demands a new model of leadership as a team. Leading as a team is fundamental to the health and sustainability of a new church community. Recognising the different gifts and skills of your team will be essential.
Worship and Prayer
This session uses the practice of ‘Lectio Divina’ to facilitate worship and prayer.
Forming a Team
A short activity where individuals practice inviting others to join their team.
Developing a Discipling Culture
Culture will form either actively or passively within any community of people. This session explores how teams can discern and practice values that are consistent with creating a culture where disciples of Jesus are made.
Team Rhythms
This session highlights the priority for teams to establish regular team rhythms of prayer, planning and review, proximity and mission.
Examen
Each gathering introduces teams to a different prayer practice: this is a contemplative prayer exercise called the Examen, offering silent reflection to respond to the leading of God’s Spirit.
Action Planning and Report Back
Teams decide on 3-5 realistic actions for the next 6 months and nominate a spokesperson to report back to the wider cohort, followed by prayer.
Review and Roundup
This closing session wraps up the gathering with important notices:
- Date of Mid Stage 2
- Date of Gathering 3
Please also do the review – this enables us to keep learning and make improvements.
Conflict in Teams
Explores the ‘forming, storming, norming, performing’ life cycle of a team and how teams can navigate conflict and disagreement in a way that deepens trust rather than causing dysfunction.
